What We Believe About…

God
We believe there is only one living and true God. He is an intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. To Him we owe the highest love, reverence, and obedience. The one God reveals Himself to us in three ways: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit which is known as the Trinity. (Genesis 1:1, Deuteronomy 6:4, Psalm 14:1)

The Bible
We believe the Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired by God and is God's revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God for its author, salvation for its end, and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. Therefore, all Scripture is totally true and trustworthy. (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21)

Man
We believe man is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. (Genesis 1:26)

Jesus
We believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God. He is both God and man. He was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. Jesus lived life fully as a man yet without sin. He offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of His people by dying on the cross. He was raised from the dead three days later and appeared to His disciples as the person who was with them before His crucifixion. He ascended into heaven and now sits at the right hand of God. He made it possible for us to have fellowship with God. (Matthew 1:18, Matthew 1:21, Matthew 20:28, Romans 9:5, 1 John 2:2)

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God, fully divine. He is the helper, counselor, comforter, instructor. He convicts men of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment. He calls men to the Savior. He lives within all believers from the moment of salvation. He cultivates Christian character and bestows the spiritual gifts by which believers serve God through His church. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service. (2 Corinthians 3:18, Titus 3:5, 1 Corinthians 6:19, Ephesians 5:18, John 16:14-15)

Salvation
We believe salvation is a gift from God to man. The only way for a person to gain fellowship with God is through repentance of sin and faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of one’s life. It is through this faith that we receive forgiveness for our sins. (Acts 20:21, Ephesians 2:8-9)

Baptism
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer's faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer's death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus. Being a church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of church membership. (Matthew 3:13-17, 28:19-30)

Second Coming
God, in His own time and in His own way, will bring the world to its appropriate end. According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in glory to the earth; the dead will be raised; and Christ will judge all men in righteousness. The unrighteous will be consigned to Hell, the place of everlasting punishment. The righteous in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their reward and will dwell forever in Heaven with the Lord. (John 14:3, Titus 2:13, 1 Thessalonians 4:14-17)
